What can go in a bin?
Most general household and garden waste can go in a skip bin. This includes:

What can’t go in a bin?
Certain materials can’t be accepted, such as:
- Asbestos
- Paint
- Chemicals

Do you help organise council permits?
Yes, we can assist with permits where required; however, customers also have responsibilities depending on the local council.
Are there any additional charges I should be aware of?
Some materials, like mattresses, tyres, and rubber, may incur additional charges. Please ask us if you’re unsure, and we’ll explain any fees that may apply.
How long can I keep my bin?
Our standard hire period is typically 1-3 days, although we can generally offer flexible arrangements depending on your needs and our availability.
Can I put the bin on the road or nature strip, and will I need a permit or to pay a fee?
Yes, you can place your bin on your private property, a road, or a nature strip. However, you’ll need a council permit for road or nature strip placement. There is no fee for placing it on your driveway or in your backyard (subject to logistics).
Do bins need to meet placement and safety requirements?
Yes. If you place your bin on a road, nature strip, or other public area, it must comply with relevant council and road safety requirements. Our team follows all applicable regulations and supplies compliant skip bins with reflective safety markers, so you can rest assured that your bin is safe, compliant, and positioned correctly.
Can I fill the bin above the rim?
No. For safety reasons, bins must be levelled off. If you have more rubbish than you expected, you will need to hire another bin for the remainder. If the bin is filled above the rim, the driver can refuse to take it. Surcharges may apply.
Do you recycle rubbish?
We recycle wherever possible for recyclable materials like steel and timber, and take any non-recyclable rubbish to local tips. We work within HIA GreenSmart principles with Calleja Group to ensure we uphold our commitment to environmental compliance, safety, and recovery standards.
How much notice do I need to give to book a bin?
We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance wherever possible. If you need a bin sooner, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to help.
